Meet Ronald Ady Crouch, children’s author.  Ron was born in Brighton, England, the son of Dr. Dennis Ady Crouch a family doctor, and his mother Josephine a nurse.  He was one of seven children and lived an adventurous life.  A former student of Shoreham Grammar School and St. Andrew School for Boys, Ron went on to study navigation at S. S. Worcester, where he graduated with a Second Mate’s Foreign Going Certificate of Competency enabling him to sail the seven seas.  He later became an English Bobby for the Sussex Police.  After immigrating to Canada with his family, he joined the Durham Regional Police in Ontario, Canada where he worked until retirement.  Ron is the father of three children, two stepchildren and one granddaughter.  He is the owner of two dogs and three cats and is an animal and nature lover.  He loves to camp outdoors, even in the winter and paddleboard in the summer.  Ron’s hobbies include writing books, painting with watercolours and gardening.  His first book was “The Amazing Adventures of Grandpa Ramsbottom – The Flying Machine, a novel he wrote for his children.
